Triathlon swim bike run racing training Newcastle team -

Hi there, Its been a while since I blogged and I gotta tell ya, I'm backed up like Sydney traffic. I got opinions and objections stacked up like itty bitty twigs just needing a big ol dose of keyboard metamucil. So what topic? Well the potential title choices relating to the amateur triathlon demographic are..... The white powdered elephant in the room- why age groupers dope. Getting chicked- one mans groundhog day or ............ Is racing the best training? I've gone with number three as it is the least controversial and I don't want to get trolled. As a young...

Dunno if you have seen the netflix documentary "The Minimalists". Its about living more with less. It pertains mostly to the discarding of material possessions, including your total housing floor space until you live in a tiny house with two shirts, two pair of pant and one egg flip in that second kitchen drawer that used to be as cluttered as a houso's front yard. As I sat sipping my half strength cinnamon chai on the beach promenade near my inner city condo, I found myself scrutinising the posture and gait of the dozens of passing joggers. I didn't mean to, I run a busy coaching business and I was supposed to be tuning out and unblocking my "chakra". Instead i was compelled to do what i do in the course my usual job, scrutinise movement efficiency.  Physics are physics. Forward propulsion is fixed  to a set of physical laws. The spectrum of movement is just that, a spectrum. So there must be a "right"...

When I raced my first triathlon in 1992 it was all high cut speedos and crop tops, the Aussies were winning every short course race that Simon Lessing didn't enter and there was no clear and established method to prepare the body for success in this new and brutal sport that was conceived just over a decade earlier. I devoured triathlon magazines like a hungry hippo, I read reports of Mark Allens mega miles and meditation, Mike Piggs vicious intervals, Brad Bevans solo approach, Miles Stewarts large group of superstars all pushing each other to new heights. The contradictions were...
